Re-purposed, re-imagined
Jewellery and objects made by award winning eco-artist, jeweller - Alison Bailey Smith, based in Wellington Road Studios, unit 2, 28a Wellington Road, Birkenhead, CH43 2JE
Why Tottie? I am Scottish and tottie means little and having a "wee tot" is to have a little child or a little drink. These stand 10 cm high and are like little characters. Not sure they are useful, perhaps they could hold an electric candle but I really just enjoy looking at the layers and stitches and shape. They stand on legs made from wire cages used for champagne or beer bottles. There is only one of these in the world...each one created is different to the next.
