Tin Canvas - Modern Art Collage
Art on a tin lid - each one is unique
Using the versatile collage art form, I have created this unique design on the lid of a (brand new) tin. The collage is carefully constructed using layers of images which have been glued onto the lid using a special non-toxic adhesive. The collage is coated with the adhesive no less than 10 times to seal the images to the tin. The natural shrinkage of the paper when it is covered in adhesive can lead to creasing, which lends a vintage feel to the tins.
Collage is derived from the French coller meaning to glue. The term was coined by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque; collage as an art form has become a distinctive part of modern art.
This collage incorporates a colourful floral theme. As you can see in my other listings, text can be added to the top layer of the collage for a striking finish. The tin measures 169 mm by 169 mm with a depth of 65 mm - a good sized tin for storing all manner of items. It will be wrapped carefully for posting.
