The embroidered primulas contrast cheerfully with the green knitted background of this brooch.
A large brooch, suitable for a chunky jacket or, perhaps, a bag.The base of this brooch has been knitted, in moss stitch, using a chunky pure wool in lovely shades of apple-y green. The needles used were finer than normal for this thickness of yarn, giving a close texture and some rigidity. The flowers have been embroidered, in a mixture of tapestry and crewel wools, using blanket stitch, straight stitch and French knots.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.

Items of embroidered jewelry may not be entirely colourfast and care should be taken that jewellery items do not get wet in use in case colour should be transferred to items of clothing.
