About the suncatcher
A charming little hen, hand made by me from bright pieces of coloured glass. The contrast between the dark paint and the coloured glass really comes alive with some sunlight behind her.The hen and the borders are created by painting the glass all over then using sharp sticks to cut and scratch the patterns. The scratched glass paint is then kiln fired to keep everything permanent. The pieces are joined using soldered copper foil and there is a small silver wire loop for hanging.The glass I use often has interesting tiny bubbles and ripples that create textures and these are part of the nature of the glass. Because the piece is handmade, every one is unique.

Overall size 10cm x 10cm approximately 4mm thick
The hen is 7cm x 7cm

Further information
The soldering is lead and therefore the piece is for decoration only and should not be placed where young children may handle or play with it.

Although at the moment the joins are shiny, these will develop a darker patina over time and give the piece a more ancient appearance.
