A summery Hello! from Meadow Tents – whatever the weather. A selection of play tents, handmade in Hertfordshire, that are self supporting – so good indoors or out – keep the summer going – even at Christmas! A great classic gift that can be passed on as a family heirloom
I make these play tents with my husband – they comprise a simple sturdy wooden A-frame design, with a choice of cover from English style collage or genuine wax coated Basque fabric from France. Or send us some fabric you like and we’ll make it up for you! We think it’s a really traditional, evocative look and our son loves his one, indeed making one for him was the inspiration for launching this company. I’ve worked with fabric for many years, and couldn’t find what I wanted for a present, but had found the lovely French fabric. You can see the results.
The stats – 95cm high, 100 cm long, 110cm wide. So, you don’t need masses of space to have it in the lounge or a bedroom
These tents are suitable for age 2 upwards, and are CE certified and tested to BS EN71 – part 1 for structural safety. Clearly cotton is flammable, so like with any tent, no naked flames should be used near or in this product. The wax coated fabric is water resistant, the plain cotton is not. They are for high days and holidays, not proper camping I’m afraid, but their flexibility means you get plenty of use as a playhouse throughout the year.
This tent is from Basque fabric, so water resistant.
