The beautiful background yarn from Folksy shop -Family Handspun, in lovely seasonal colours was the inspiration for this design. The vintage 2-ply and crewel wools suggested the combination of three-dimensional crochet combined with embroidery.

A group of delicate christmas roses, and their buds, form the focus of this pretty, seasonal brooch.
The background of this brooch has been hand-knitted from a hand-dyed, hand -spun, textured yarn, using moss stitch for added texture. The Christmas roses have been crocheted in a fine 2-ply pure wool. The centres of the roses and their leaves have been added by hand embroidery in fine crewel wools.
The back of this brooch has been neatened with white felt and a brooch pin securely stitched in place.
The brooch will arrive packed in a simple pouch - of left-over or recycled fabric - tied closed with a bow of ribbon or crocheted yarn. A hand-written label will give brief details of the processes and materials used in the making of this brooch.
