In this pretty one-of-a-kind piece, each of the eight Butterflies are built with words and images from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

The text and images are taken from an Illustrated Alice in Wonderland. Illustrations include.....Alice with potion, the Caterpillar, the March Hare's butter covered pocket watch and the White Rabbit in court.

The butterflies rest on a slightly off white pastel paper. The extracts from this classic story are painstakingly chosen, the butterflies hand cut, hand sewn and attached. There's a nice clean bright quality to this piece.

The piece will come to you in a black wood shadow box measuring 33cm x 24cm (outer dimensions of the frame) which can be either freestanding or hung.

The butterfly art really works for me, from a distance it's one pretty thing, then close up, it's a deeper level of detail. I can't get enough of symmetry and detail.
