Full description
A posy of embroidered roses decorates both the back and front covers of this miniature, hand made book. Attached to a charm cord it could be used for addresses, phone numbers, birthdays or give as a gift and write a secret message inside!
The cover is cut from needle cord fabric in an antique gold colour. The embroidery has been worked in tapestry wools and metallic blue thread. The full blown rose has been stitched in silk ribbon using ribbon embroidery techniques. The cover is lined with a cream patterned fabric. The lining is backed with iron-on interfacing. The cover is reinforced with heavy interfacing. The cover ties closed at each side with a ribbon bow. A ribbon loop, at the top of the book, allows the charm cord to be attached. This book is in a 'zig-zag' (concertina) format. Opened one side access is gained to one side of the page 'strip', open the other side for access to the reverse - or both at once to loosen the zig-zag completely.
The 'pages' of the book are assembled from a zig-zag strip. There are 10 usable square 'panels' each one having a usable reverse. Alternatively, write a message across the entire strip.
