Unique OOAK from my Kimono Collection featuring part of an unused panel of Vintage Japanese Wool Kimono fabric - Indigo Leaf, dated from the 1960's.
The Kimono fabric is a lovely fine wool with a good drape and particularly smooth hand - almost feels like a good cotton. A lovely crisp colourful design, deep Indigo Blue background with a pattern of Golden Biscuit toned leaves with Indigo fine line detailing which form a pattern leaving the Indigo background showing as larger simple silhouette leaf forms. Scatter on some florals in Orange, Lime & White and you have a cheerful bright fabric.
I have lined it with a beautiful, soft Moda cotton in shades of rich indigo and royal blue. The ribbon and bead bookmark features a lovely ceramic japanese girl wearing an orange kimono. Very sweet!
