Red, Felt Long Stemmed Rose in a Fabric Vase

Perfect Valentine's Day gift

The petals for the rose are drawn, cut, and sewn together by hand. The finished rose is then attached to a wooden stem and two hand embroidered leaves are attached with fine wire.

The vase has been made out of 100 per cent cotton (excluding trimmings) and is printed with the famous Burns song 'My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose'. A Mackintosh style rose has been stitched onto the vase and detail has been added using free-hand embroidery. The vase is trimmed with vintage lace and small shell buttons.

The rose is 29 cm tall

The vase measures 15cm by 8 cm by 4 cm.

Please note this product is not safe for children (it has a pointy stick and sharp wires!).

Please note the vase is made of fabric and will not hold water!

On the Folksy Forums we are having a challenge each month to make items for our shops around a set theme. The theme for January was Burns Night and, more broadly, Scotland.

I took inspiration from Robert Burns' song 'My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose' and the stylised rose on the fabric vase was influenced by the Mackintosh Rose (another great Scottish icon).
