This funky Pink and Cream handmade felt handbag reminds of a bowl of strawberry ice cream!!
This design really uses the unique propeties of my knitting and felting technique, I knit each shoulder bag in one piece with no seams which creates this great sculptural design.
The strap on this shoulder bag is long enough to wear it across your body, I suggest you take a tape and measure the strap length just to check the bag height for you. I can easily make one with a different length of strap if needed.
I hand knit and felt my shoulder bags with 3 strands of 4ply (fingering) 100% wool yarn.
This time I used Pastel Pink and Natural Cream yarn. The yarns are blended as I knit to create a unique tonal quality.
I used a pretty floral motif pewter coloured metal button to close this bag.
After knitting I full or wet felt each bag then carefully shape and dry them to form a strong, thick and incredibly tactile fabric.
My individual process creates a fabric where the knitted stitches are not visible anymore. It really is felt!
