This bracelet is made from origami stars (handfolded by myself) which have been printed with the Buddhist Heart Mantra.
The Heart Mantra has been translated into English by the Dalai Lama:
"Go, go, go beyond, go thoroughly beyond, and establish yourself in enlightenment."
Paper is the traditional gift for a first wedding anniversary so this would make an ideal and unique present.
I have coated the stars with three layers of PVA glue which gives them a lovely shiny look. They are splashproof but are not water resistant so are not suitable for wearing in the bath or swimming etc.
I have alternated the stars with some upcycled polished brown stone beads - I believe they were once part of a necklace.
The bracelet is threaded on crystal elastic which is very strong and durable. There are no fiddly catches and the bracelet will fit most adult wrist sizes.
Unstretched it has an inside diameter of approximately 7 inches.
All origami star items are presented in a handmade origami box.
