Full description

Unique handsewn bags made from the pocket of a pair of jeans. Each heirloom pocket bag is unique and lavishly embellished. There are 2 pockets really as the original pocket is sewn onto a back piece giving a little bag with the original jeans pocket on the front.

I use some new fabrics and trinkets but I prefer to use old vintage bits and bobs - ribbons, silks, satins, vintage fripperies, old brooches, bracelets, fringing, antique glass lingerie buttons, glass beads, vintage faux pearls, roses made from ribbons.

I have been hoarding and collecting pretties for many years and have started to put them to good use on my textile jewellery and bags. Each one is different. They take quite a while to produce, I stuff as much embellishment as I can onto the front of each pocket. I recycle and upcycle as much as I can. They are rather Victorian or Bohemian in style and can also be worn as a bib necklace. I wear mine as a necklace as I hate having to carry a bag around. Two extra pockets instantly.

Each one is lined and some are edged in velvet or lace or sometimes both. I have taken orders for particular colours or to use a treasured memento, usually a brooch or a necklace to be incorporated into the design. A nice way to keep it on view and not stuffed away in a drawer. This listing is for one bag as shown in the photos attached.
