You will find stone cottages similar to the one illustrated dotted all around Scotland, and especially in the more rugged areas they are often used as bothies - a place of rest and refuge for those exploring. It is the isolation and simplicity of these buildings and the sense of warmth and shelter that they can offer on the often unfriendly mountains.
