When Squeaky was about four, she wanted a 'proper' handbag. So I made her one - a knitted pink and white bag which she absolutely loved and used for years. Strap length and girly colour
aside {though this bag grew with her as I'd made it long enough to tie up}, I had always loved that wee bag because it was just the right size for essentials and a phone, and it was cute.
And then this yarn came along and transformed into a grown-up version of that precious little girl's handbag in the most glorious shade of peacock blue.
Squeaky still has her bag, by the way. She's past the 'pink phase,' but even as an early teen, that bag still gets the occasional outing.
