Full description
This elegant gothic necklace is called Katherine. It has been tatted in black cotton thread and is part of my Frivolite Gothique Collection. I decided to add seed beads to give it more of a gothic touch.
Forty three silver-lined ruby coloured seed beads are tatted into the black motif. It measures just over 2 1/4 inches (58mm) wide by slightly over 2 1/4 inches (58mm) long. It is attached to a sheer organza black ribbon, of approximately 16 inches, by a silver plated split ring. The ribbon is adorned with two groups of Czech dark siam faceted round glass beads and rhinestone rhondelles on either side of the main motif. The ends are securely attached to silver plated leather crimps. This necklace is fastened using a silver plated bolt ring and a 50mm silver plated extension chain with a tear drop. A miniscule amount of diluted PVA glue has been used to secure the ends.
The beads were tatted in as I went rather than being sewn in afterwards.
This would look fantastic at a masked ball or party.
