Meerkat GEORDI Star Trek TNG

Lieutenant CommandKat Geordi La Forge is the Enterprise's chief Engineer. He wears a mustard yellow Ops sweater and like all Next Generation Meerkat trekkies he shows his rank by collar pips, and wears a communicator badge on his chest.

What's not to love?

Geordi is blind, and during his service on Enterprise-D wears a VISOR which allows him to "see" throughout the electromagnetic spectrum, from heat and infrared through visible light to radio waves. Meerkat Geordi's visor is stitched with a metallic-seeming elastic thread.

As with my non-trekkie meerkats, Geordi's back legs and tail have been wired to allow him to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance. He is approximately 7" tall (18cm).

***READY TO SHIP***

The price quoted is for ONE meerkat trekkie, Enterprise and the various aliens are NOT included. Not suitable for small trekkies owing to wiring and tiny beads.

Materials: acrylic yarn, polyfibre filling, pipecleaners, silver plated beads,

BIG Harry Hill Meerkat as seen on K Factor

You've loved him on K factor, maybe you've even voted for him? The TV studio still have the original, but here's your chance to own your very own knitted Harry Hill Meerkat, as seen on TV Burp:

http://www.itv.com/Entertainment/comedy/HarryHillsTVBurp/default.html

He's about 11" tall (25cm) and is knitted to my own pattern. His back legs and tail are wired so he can stand freely. I've photographed him with his smaller brother and a standard DVD case to give an idea of scale.

His jacket fastens with two buttons and can be removed if he overheats under the studio lights. His shirt, complete with big flappy collar, has cufflinks and is also removable.

His glasses are sewn on, and of course he has a couple of mini badges (vintage buttons) on his lapel.

***KNITTED TO ORDER*** Please see announcement or profile for current order-to-shipping times***

BATMAN meerkat

No longer *just* a Meerkat, this is a SUPERKAT!

Batkat wears his underpants on the outside, of course, and has a black cape (with scalloped edge) boots and helmet. His bat emblem is made of felt (even I can't manage that in knit!)

As with my not-quite-superpowered-meerkats, his back legs and tail have been wired to allow him to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance. He is approximately 7" tall (18cm).

***READY TO SHIP***

The price quoted is for ONE Batman meerkat, his superhero friends are not included but are available separately. Not suitable for small batfans owing to wiring and tiny beads

Do you like twitter? If so...you'll love my new range of keyring buddies!

***READY TO POST***

I've interpreted the twitter birdie and knitted him to be around 3 inches (8 cm) tall, with flappy wings and tail. A key chain is attached to the back of the neck, so that you can proclaim your loyalty to Twitter from your keys, bag, belt loop - wherever!

I've knitted these birds in three colour ways: choose between turquoise with black @, turquoise with yellow @ and mid blue with yellow @.

I could also knit to your own choice of colour.

Axolotl handknitted in honour of Nick Baker!

I designed my own pattern for an axolotl after seeing naturalist Nick Baker on Harry Hill's TVBurp - he was on the same episode as my Harry Hill meerkat!

Axolotls are nature's version of adult kids who come back home after college and refuse to leave! They're a larval form of salamander that just won't metamorphose into adults - but aren't they adorable?

I've knitted it in two colour variations: baby pink with fuchsia gills, or palest peach with salmon gills, so if you have a preference remember to let me know. I'm selling them singly, but have two in the photos to show the colour variation.

My axolotls are between 7 inches and 8 inches long, and have wired legs to allow you to pose them. They are not suitable for small children due to wiring, but if you would prefer a floppy-legged version I'm happy to reknit to your requirements.

Alice in Wonderland Meerkat

Alice the Meerkat has a new reason for asking this question:

"I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?"

Alice has been transformed into a Niftyknits original meerkat. She's around 7" tall (18cm) and wears a beautiful blue dress with full lacy petticoat. On her head she wears (of course) an Alice band.

Her outfit is complete with stripy stockings and bright red shoes.

None of Alice's clothes are removable. Like all Niftyknits meerkats she is made to my own pattern. Her back legs and tail have been wired to allow her to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance.

She is not suitable for small children due to small parts.
Alice's house is not included.

St Patricks Day Meerkat couple

It's a little known fact that St Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, was ably assisted by meerkats when he rid Ireland of snakes.

To this day, meerkats continue to dress in green and wear shamrocks in honour of the Saint's day, 17th March.

***READY TO SHIP*** also available singly, just ask.

Want to know more about St Patrick's day? http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/CUSTOMS/questions/nationaldays/ireland.html

My Irish gent wears a bright lime green shirt and removable dark green jacket emblazoned with a 3leaf* clover or shamrock.

He also wears a dashing green top hat at a jaunty angle.

Like all my meerkats he is knitted by me, to my own pattern, and stands around 7 inches (18cm) tall. His lady friend wears a matching skirt, and is slightly shorter. Their legs and tails are wired to enable them to stand.

*I researched carefully how many leaves the shamrock needed (ok, I asked my twitter friends) and although people often wear 4 leaf clovers, 3 is authentic. St Patrick is believed to have used a 3 leaf lover to illustrate the concept of the Trinity.

Meerkat Nurse for Mothers Day

What better way to say "Thanks mum" on Mothers day than with a custom meerkat? Think of all those times she's looked after you when you're not well - doesn't she deserve to be nurse of the year?

This particular meerkat is wearing a nurse's uniform comprising of white dress (not removable) with navy blue belt fastened with silver coloured fancy buckle. Her watch is hanging from her chest. The eagle-eyed viewer will spot it is upside down - so that she can lift it towards her while taking the pulse of her patient (not included)

Her traditional cap is made from a small piece of lace, and is firmly attached (otherwise she'd be in trouble with matron)

Final pic shows our nurse following sterotype and making a play for Dr McCoy (also not included!)

My meerkats are knitted to my own pattern. Their back legs and tail have been wired to allow them to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance at between 6" and 7" tall.

***KNITTED TO ORDER***

****I've listed 5 available as this pattern will be repeated. I currently only have two of this make of "watch" so future nurses may differ from the one shown.****

Meerkat Wedding couple

They say a picture paints a thousand words - so just look! My Meerkat bride is in a pure white off-the-shoulder ballerina length gown (floor length would cause tail problems!) and has a lacy veil secured by deep pink ribbon roses. She carries a matching bouquet, and has accessorised her wedding outfit with a necklet of tiny silver (colored) beads and white slippers.

Her groom wears a black lounge suit with narrow tie and matching pink rose buttonhole.

I'm listing them together as a pair, but they are available separately if you can bear to part them. Other colors available, please feel free to discuss your color scheme with me.

My meerkats are knitted to my own pattern. Their back legs and tail have been wired to allow them to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance at between 6" and 7" tall.

Meerkat Morris Dancer custom knit

It had to happen - I knit Morris Dancers, I knit Meerkats - and now I do both at the same time!

This particular young lady is a member of the Bedfordshire Lace team, you can go to their website and give me marks out of ten! http://www.bedfordshirelace.org.uk/

I've knitted her shirt and tights in one with her body because she needs her dignity. Her purple waistcoat buttons with a shiny bead, she wears a navy blue skirt with streaming white and pink ribbons, and a bright fucshia pink jacket to keep the chill off after dancing.

She wears only one bell on each foot as otherwise, due to scale, she wouldn't be able to move at all, let alone dance.

This particular MorrisMeerkat has been knitted to order, I would be happy to knit the Meerkat Morris Dancer of your choice. http://www.mainlymorrisdancing.org.uk/

Manly Meerkat in chunky sweater

What better way to say "I love you" to the Man of your Dreams than with a custom meerkat?

This hunk of meerkat manhood is wearing a cable sweater in dark green. I'd be happy to knit in another equally manly colour - navy blue, brown, bright pink ;-) whatever takes your fancy. I have a huge range in my stash, and would welcome a trip to the wool shop!

My meerkats are knitted to my own pattern. Their back legs and tail have been wired to allow them to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance at between 6" and 7" tall.

***KNITTED TO ORDER***

****I've listed 5 available as this pattern will be repeated. However, please understand only one is ready to ship at any one time, and I will then need up to one week to restock****

Birthday Cake Meerkat

"Happy Birthday to youoouu!" sings your very own birthday meerkat with cake of your choice! Choose from luscious chocolate or mouthwatering raspberry icing, complete with iced flowers and candle.

Niftyknits meerkats are all knitted in the round to my own pattern, with head and body in one piece, in a soft hardwearing acrylic.

I have several versions available: this listing is for an adult meerkat, taller with a longer, slimmer body. Back legs and tail have been wired to allow him to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance.

Approximately 7" tall, standing, he is on alert for all possible dangers (including cake-theft)

Your meerkat may differ slightly from the photos, as it is impossible for me (as a mere human) to exactly replicate my work!

***KNIT to ORDER*** Don't forget to tell me which cake you prefer.

Not suitable for young children due to seedbead eyes, wiring

Historical Meerkats

A pair of dominant meerkats from the period of Thomas Hardy.

The female meerkat wears a long skirt with waist apron, tied at the back. She keeps warm with a shawl, and maintains her modesty by covering her hair (fur?) with a lace mobcap.

Her gentleman admirer wears typical peasant garb of knee breeches and smock, with a battered hat and neckerchief.

Costumes are not removable, other colours on request.

Also available separately, please send me a message and I will list for you.

My meerkats are knitted to my own pattern. Their back legs and tail have been wired to allow them to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance at between 6" and 7" tall.

EMO Meerkat

Emo meerkat wears a removable hoody with a star motif front and back and a skull thong necklace.

He carries an airforce blue messenger bag which can be opened to store life's essentials and is embellished with buttons.

His hair is longer on one side and covers one eye. It also partially obscures his nose-stud (in case his gran doesn't like it). Emo meerkat has a bright highlight in his black hair. ( Ready-to-go has red, but orange or green are also available.)

Niftyknits meerkats are knitted to my own pattern and are all knitted in the round, with head and body in one piece, in a soft hardwearing acrylic.

His back legs and tail have been wired to allow him to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance at approximately 7" tall.

His flexible limbs and tail can be posed to suit you - he can sit and sprawl, his tail can be worn erect.

Not suitable for tinies due to seedbead eyes and wiring.

I've created my pattern using a range of Marvel pics from Google. If *your* version differs, I'm happy to adapt my pattern.

Meerkat baby

This little meerkat is the same as the two who have gone off on a world tour - see their facebook page here:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/NiftyKnits-Meerkat-World-Tour/168113137551

This was the first design in my best-selling range. They are all knitted in the round, with head and body in one piece, in a soft hardwearing acrylic.

The baby is slightly smaller than the others, more rotund, and unwired. He can sit freely because his little bottom has been weighted with bean-bag-filling.

Approximately 5" tall, seated, he is already gazing into the skies above looking out for predators.

Not suitable for tinies due to seedbead eyes and the aforementioned beanbag granules.

I've been doing careful research (watching reruns of Meerkat Manor) and have worked out my own pattern for a mob of these adorable little creatures. They are all knitted in the round, with head and body in one piece, in a soft hardwearing acrylic.
<p>
This listing is for a mummy meerkat. She is similar in body size to the baby, but her back legs and tail have been wired to allow her to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance - so she's taller than baby, shorter than dad.
<p>
Approximately 6" tall, standing, she is looking around for predators!
<p>
Her flexible limbs and tail can be posed to suit you - she can sit and sprawl, her tail can be worn erect.

My best-selling line! I've been doing careful research (watching reruns of Meerkat Manor) and have worked out my own pattern for a mob of these adorable little creatures. They are all knitted in the round, with head and body in one piece, in a soft hardwearing acrylic.

Approximately 7" tall, standing, he is on alert for all possible dangers.

My own design of meerkat wearing original series Star Trek sweaters and Federation emblems proudly on their chests and have their ranking stripes on their sleeves.

As with my non-trekkie meerkats, hind legs and tails are wired with pipe cleaners to allow them to self stand. He is approximately 7" tall (18cm).

Teal Mohair corsage for Mothers Day

I've handknitted an aqua or teal or turquoise - I give in, what is this colour called? flower in a soft mohair yarn, using cream mohair for the centre accent and to divide the petals.

This will make a perfect gift for Mothers day.

I've accented the flower with 2 creamy white skeletal leaves and to finish I've crocheted a backing circle in the same yarn, and added not one but two silver plated brooch backs. This is to ensure you can hang the brooch at any angle without it "dangling".

***READY TO SHIP***

The two brooch backs also mean you can thread a thong or chain through them and wear your corsage as a necklace - I'm a great believer in multi-tasking!
Materials: mohair, skeleton leaves, silver plate findings, polyfiber filling

One of my last remaining Morris Dancers, first created for the Tenterden Folk Festival. Never to be repeated at this price! ***READY TO SHIP***

I would love to knit a mascot for YOUR favourite team, just send me the details and we'll discuss it. A website would do to start (is it listed here http://www.mainlymorrisdancing.org.uk/ ?) but any additional details (for instance, what is on the back) would help.

My little dancers are about 8 inches tall and unsuitable for small children owing to the little bells which could be a choking hazard.

Materials: acrylic yarn and childsafe polyfibre filling, metal bells

Ok - I'm not entirely telling the truth. This is not a real trumpet, it is a teensy knitted trumpet with bead "keys" to play the notes: a keyring! (no pun intended)

French Onion seller Meerkat

Meerkats don't only live in the Kalahari, you know. Some hail from less exotic climes - and this little chap lives and works in Paris. He wears the traditional striped navy and white sweater and red scarf, and has a string of onions around his neck. His bicycle is presumably around the back of the Eiffel Tower, because he told Nifty she didn't need to knit one. *Phew*

His back legs and tail have been wired to allow him to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance. He is approximately 7" tall (18cm).

I've knitted these in three colour ways: this bird is turquoise with black @

Uhura Star Trek meerkat

Uhura, Enterprise's Communications officer, wears Engineering Red and has her ear piece firmly in place. I reckon she wears it in her left ear because that's the one that is usually in shot. She also has big earrings, of course, and has darker fur than the average meerkat.

Like all First series MeerTrek crew she wears a Federation emblem (soon to become a communicator) proudly on her chest and has her ranking stripes on her sleeves.

***KNITTED TO ORDER*** (this will take about a week)

As with my non-trekkie meerkats, her back legs and tail have been wired to allow her to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance. She is approximately 6" tall (15cm).

My apologies for the flare on her dress, my camera hates red.

The price quoted is for ONE meerkat trekkie, Enterprise is NOT included. Not suitable for small trekkies owing to wiring and tiny beads.

Materials: acrylic yarn, polyfibre filling, pipecleaners, silver plated beads,

green dragon toy

By the Mountains of Doom lives a small green dragon, perching upright on her hind legs she watches over you and safeguard your stash of gold coins!

From nosetip to the end of her tail, this little fire lizard toy measures 18" of which 8"is tail. Her tail has been knitted continuously from the body, so there is no danger of it getting pulled off by an over-enthusiastic admirer.

***READY TO SHIP***

The dragon doll is not intended for small children. Her wings (10" span) have been knitted to include a channel on the leading edge, and this has been reinforced with a pipe cleaner to allow them to be furled, flexed, whatever. Her wings are secured along the back by her spinal ridge.

Treasure and eggs not included.

Meerkat van Persie* wears Arsenal home kit of red and white and has his Gunners badge proudly emblazoned on his shirt. He is 7" tall (18cm). His legs and tail are wired and poseable, and he comes with his very own little football (actually a birthday cake candle!)

(Arsenal badge is printed and glued to felt which is sewn to the chest, embroidering a badge of this size is not an option!)

Janeway Star trek meerkat

Captain Kathryn Janeway has joined the mob of Meerkat Star Trek characters!

Voyager Meerkat trekkies show their rank by collar pips, and wear communicator badges on their chests. Their uniform is subtly different - Voyager crew wear grey turtle necks under their black sweaters, with shoulder sections in the colour of their particular discipline. Captain Janeway, of course, wears command colours, deep burgundy red.

As with my non-trekkie meerkats, Janeway's back legs and tail have been wired to allow her to stand freely in the typical "tripod" stance. She is approximately 7" tall (18cm).

***KNITTED TO ORDER*** (this will take about a week)

Not suitable for small trekkies owing to wiring and tiny beads.

Materials: acrylic yarn, polyfibre filling, pipecleaners, silver plated beads,

I would love to knit a customised mascot for YOUR favourite team, just send me the team name and we'll discuss details.

Project Runway has nothing on us...this particular young meerkat trendsetter has a pretty dress in two shades of blue, a fabulous bonnet (or is it a fascinator?) trimmed with vintage buttons and a fluffy wrap to keep off the evening chill.

The dressed meerkat can sit freely because her little bottom has been weighted with a stockinette parcel of juggling-bag-filling. She is approximately 5" tall (13cm), seated, and is unsuitable for tiny meerkat worshippers owing to small parts.

"I am Locutus ... of Borg. Resistance ... is futile. Your life as it has been ... is over. From this time forward ... you will knit ... us."

No longer *just* a Star Trek Next Generation Meerkat, Captain Jean Luc Picard has boldly gone where no knitted meerkat has gone before - he has been assimilated.

He wears a burgundy Command sweater and like all Next Generation Meerkat trekkies he shows his rank by collar pips, and wears a communicator badge on his chest. ***KNITTED TO ORDER*** beam me up an order and I will boldly knit!

The price quoted is for ONE meerkat trekkie, Enterprise is NOT included. Not suitable for small trekkies owing to wiring and tiny bead

buy your mum an Oast House for Mothers day

Bet you'd like to buy your mum a house for mothers day? Well, now you can!

When I win the lottery I am going to live in one and have a glorious round kitchen and (of course) a round bed with bespoke bedding...so someone might want to start designing it now, please? For now, it is one of many handknitted home decorations available from NiftyKnits.

Hand knitted as ever in a pet and smoke free environment, your model Oast house is 4 inches (10cm) tall.

Knitted items are inevitably one of a kind, as even when repeated it's impossible to get exactly the same result. Your Oast house, therefore, may differ slightly from the one pictured.

Morris Dancing is not just strange men with sticks and bells...sometimes they have tankards of ale too!

My little dancers are about 8 inches tall and unsuitable for small children owing to the little bells which could be a choking hazard.

One of my last remaining Morris Dancers, first created for the Tenterden Folk Festival. Never to be repeated at this price!

I could alternatively knit a customised mascot for YOUR favourite team, just send me the team name and we'll discuss price and details. A website would do to start (is it listed here http://www.mainlymorrisdancing.org.uk/ ?) but any additional details (for instance, what is on the back) would help.

I defy you to find more colourful earrings!

I've knitted 7 double-sided circles (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) and then sewn them together in a rainbow arch. They are topped with a bead knitted in rainbow wool and then the whole thing is sewn to jump ring then attached to a silver plated earring wire.

Certainly bright enough to turn heads, if not to actually stop the rain. Guaranteed one (pair) of a kind!

***READY TO SHIP*** and perfect for mothers day

The circles are 3cm in diameter (about an inch and a quarter) whilst the bead is about an inch or 2 cm. Total drop from the ball at the base of the earring wire is 6cm or 2 and a half inches.
