I've drawn, painted, designed and made things for as long as I can remember. When a friend asked me to paint some horseshoes for him in a canal art style, I began to explore canal art. and have been doing so ever since, drawn in by the vibrant colours and the memory of watching "Rosie and Jim" with my son when he was a child. Some of the work is traditional, some less so, because art doesn't stand still. Like langiuage it grows and develops
Everything here is designed and hand-painted by me. Most of the objects I paint are used, some of them very thoroughly - the iron shown here, for instance, can't be less than 90 years old. I use enamel paints for all my work, and everything is varnished for protection against bangs and scrapes.
I have two cats, a big one and a little one.
