This is one of my little wooden books made from paper on birch ply.

I find a sentence or some words that I love, put them together, then design the pages to go with them.
I like each page to work on it's own as well as being part of the finished book.

This is a 3 page book and it opens up in a concertina.
The text reads: "It's illogical of course, but it's some comfort, don't you think so?"

Something - a little wooden book

This is one of my little wooden books with cut-up pages and sentences all taken from the book 'The Middle Age of Mrs Eliot'.

I find a sentence or some words that I love, put them together, then design the pages to go with them.

Each book is a labour of love.

This is a 5 page book (including cover) made of birch ply and paper and it opens up concertina-style.

The story reads:
"There's something I have to tell you. Every love affair can get a bit stale; the galleries, the theatre, the opera and so on. It was true."

Open flat: 41cm x 6cm x 1.5cm

http://mrseliotbooks.blogspot.com/2008/10/winter-warmers.html

It is printed on 100% cotton archival paper with a border for framing.

Paper size: A4 (29.7cm x 21.0cm)

The Red Balloon - wooden triptych

So here's a triptych version of my Red Balloon little wooden book and card, perfect for a child's bookshelf.

It's inspired by The Red Balloon by Albert Lamorisse, one of my favourite books when I was little, and I've used a collage of the original photographs from the book and Susy Jack's dotty dots (www.susyjack.etsy.com) to illustrate the balloons.

It's made from paper, paint and birch ply.
Each block is 14cm x 10.5cm x 2.5cm.

Limited edition of 10

I Like List Go! - Jute bag in Natural

You’ve seen the notebook, now here’s the I like list bag!

This is a very sweet little bag sewn front and back with a little I like list.

This bag’s list:

I like

Honey

Daisy chains

The first day of spring

And…

Daydreaming about you.

Jute is a natural vegetable fibre, it’s very strong and 100% biodegradable. It’s grown in India and comes to me via a very ethically aware company in Cornwall, England.

Size: H:22cm W20cm D13cm

Other colours and lists are in store, check listings for availability. There is also children’s version, check my children’s dept to see what’s there.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Placing Things - a little paper book

I have an obsession with small objects…things. And how lovely they are, just on their own, out of context. Like a tied piece of string, a bowl, an apple. I dug out my old poem book recently and some words from one poem inspired this little book.

Text reads:

Placing things

All tiny

With love language

The book opens into a concertina and is stitched into its cover. It's then wrapped in baker’s twine and sealed in a cello bag. Lovely open on a bookshelf or to send to someone who also appreciates the small things in life.

Limited edition of 50

9.5cm x 12cm

This 3d concertina card is taken from one of my little wooden books inspired by the book 'The Middle Age of Mrs Eliot' by Angus Wilson. So if you love the book but can't quite stretch to it, this is the paper version.

The text reads:
"I think your dress is very beautiful"

The book opens into a concertina and is stitched into its cover. It's then wrapped in baker’s twine and sealed in a cello bag. Lovely open on a bookshelf or to send to someone you're missing.
