These bags are a work of art that takes crochet to the next level. Tapestry crochet, also known as Jacquard, Mosaic, Fair Isle or simply ‘colour work’ crochet, is a form of crochet closely resembling a woven texture.
The alternating yarn colours are carried all the way through the pattern, meaning more yarn is required for the finished project. Usually stitched in single crochet the project does take a while to complete and I would suggest you order at least 3-6 months ahead of when you need your bag finished. It is that work intensive. On average there about 60 hours of work in a bag like this, materials cost around £25, so you’ll see this is somewhat a labour of love.
