Ashlie and Lynn set up Akasha Artisan as they love making things together, love working together and want to support the movement to reduce our environmental footprint on this planet of ours.
Both Ashlie and Lynn's husbands are in the construction industry and have access to wood and tools so we have started our venture with a supply of scaffold boards. We also had a supply of wooden coathangers and wanted to do something with them. We are finding other recycled materials as we go along, including some pallets and a couple of pieces of small furniture. We will be repurposing these in the coming months.
We are enjoying learning new crafting techniques such as transferring images to the scaffold boards, overcoming the challenges of painting in watercolours and acrylics on the boards and how to decoupage.
We will be adding new products regularly to our Folksy site so keep an eye out for them.
