I have to confess to being a bit of a magpie - always attracted to shiny things. It's one of the reasons I love to make beautiful jewellery.
I love the mindful process of stitching the tiny beads, seeing them come together to make something more substantial and beautiful.
I've been making and designing jewellery for 18 years, I take my inspiration from nature and geometry - you'll often see flowers and stars in my beadwork, or geometric shapes. The materials I use to make my beadwork are the best around - Japanese seed beads are the most regular shape and size out there, Preciosa crystals and pearls from Czechia.
Mostly, I bead in the evenings and weekends, from my comfy vintage armchair in the corner of my living room, listening to a podcast or some 90s indie music, with my cat curled up next to me. I'm the kind of person who needs a bit of chaos to be creative, so my corner of the living room often looks like a whirlwind went through a bead shop! Despite the chaos around me, my beadwork is the perfect bit of order and precision in my life.
The designs for my jewellery are regularly published in Bead & Jewellery Magazine, I have won awards for the jewellery I make and have been a finalist in the British Bead Awards and Bead Workers Guild Crystal Anniversary Competition.
