Hello! Over the past few years, I've started following my passion for abstract art, making original expressive paintings. I find my inspiration in my emotional response to colour combinations, the beauty of nature, my emotional state and memories. I work from my slightly chaotic garden studio, where I'm generally throwing paint around and experimenting! Previously, my career has been as a surface designer and illustrator, working mainly creating patterns and characters for childrenswear and I feel this shows in a lot of the choices I make in my paintings - repetitive marks, naive brush strokes and bright colour palettes are key to a lot of my work. I predominantly use acrylic on stretched canvas, though I also paint on paper and wood too, it just depends on how I feel at the time. As well as being an artist, I'm also a mum, so time is limited but I sometimes manage to squeeze in a bit of sewing and crochet where I can.
