Shop Announcement:

***PLEASE READ***
I WILL ONLY BE DISPATCHING ORDERS ON A TUESDAY.
Due to the evolving situation with regard to Coronavirus/Covid-19 I am working on a day-to-day basis.
I will remain open and take orders however I would ask that customer take into account that government and health advice and precautions are changing daily and I will be working in accordance with these guidelines. I will continue to dispatch orders as and when I can however I will not risk my own, my family or others health for the sake of your order, nothing I sell is worth the health, wellbeing and life of anyone.
I am very appreciative of any orders at this time, being a self employed artist generally comes with some challenges, these circumstances are unprecedented and I am trying my best like many others to work through and come out the other side as unscathed as possible. But there may be a delay or stop to my ability to dispatch orders and I hope you can understand this and would be willing to wait rather than requesting a refund as I will honour all orders as soon as I possibly can.
Thank you for your continued support.
Be kind, stay safe and be well.

About By Charlie's Hand

By Charlie's Hand

One girl armed with a scalpel, an obsession with colour and a love of tea making original papercuts in the valleys of South Wales!

I'm Charlotte Trimm, yes that's my real name not a psudonym it's just turned into a very happy coincidence, 5ft 2" tall, size 5 feet with purple hair and better known as 'By Charlie's Hand'.
I live in the South Wales Valleys and create original, handcut papercuts in my tiny home studio. I love using colour in my work, rainbows and spectrums feature heavily and I fell into papercutting after graduating from the University of Wales, Newport in 2010. I have a degree in Fine Art and was mainly a painter but after moving home after university I didn't have the space or facilities to create paintings anymore so I turned to papercutting. I had been a long time fan of Rob Ryan and my parents handily had a scalpel stashed away in a kitchen drawer and since then I have barely spent a day without a scalpel in my hand cutting really well placed holes in paper! By Charlie's Hand grew from some really terrible, wobbly and jagged experiments whilst sat at my parents kitchen table into the best full time job anyone could ask for! I've also created colouring books, a yearly calendar, notebooks, bags, tea towels and most recently I've delved into the world of digital illustration!
I share my home with my boyfriend of 10 years, affectionately known as 'The Trucker' on my social media, and we often spend the time when I'm not furiously cutting, drawing or painting on walking adventures in the gorgeous countryside around our house which is just on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
