About Julie Barmer Glass

Julie Barmer Glass

Decorative fused glass art for your home.

A little bit about me-

My name is Jules I am a glass artist, part time Art teacher, mum to two girls and one cat. All my work is handmade from my small studio at home.

A long time ago (too long to mention) I graduated with a BA Hons in Ceramic and Glass Design before embarking on a career in teaching, that I still do and love. I have always continued to make my own work alongside teaching and finally decided it was time set up my own glass business.

I love working with glass there are so many processes, techniques and endless possibilities. Within my work I use a range of recycled float glass and Bullseye glass which are fused together using a kiln. I like to use a range of inclusions in my work and oftern add sandblasted details. I create functional dishes, candle holders, wall hangings and small sculptures. I am inspired by many things including nature, landscapes, botanical forms and intricate patterns from mandalas, vintage doilies and lace.

Feel free to follow me on Intsagram to see what new things I have been working on.
