Weaving colourful strands, from rag rugs to ropework.and beyond!

I've been fascinated by textiles and colour all my life. I began as a teenager with patchwork, and later moved on to making rag rugs from recycled materials. Whilst living afloat on my narrowboat for 10 years I learnt knot tying and rope splicing as well as fashioning custom-sized rag rugs for my own and others boats and homes. I'm a landlubber again now but my home workroom overlooks the canal, where I can watch the boats passing and keep up with the towpath gossip.

Lockdown cancelled my craft events and nudged me back to rugmaking. At the same time, our new Jack Russell puppy was growing fast and needing chew-proof dog leads. So it was back into the rope stores and having equipped young Thor with his new leads, I am now making smart and strong real rope leads for sale. Thor is an excellent "glamorous model".

Buying from me

"Tiddleywork" is the term sailors used for small-scale and decorative knotting. It fits my little business fine - small scale, decorative and knotty in places!
I make rag rugs and rag rug accessories as well as handspliced rope dog leads.

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.
