I’m Emily and I'm the maker behind weewoollies, designing and creating colourful, contemporary knitwear and accessories for you, your baby and your home in bold stripes and colour blocks. Each and every piece of weewoollies knitwear is designed, knitted and made by me in my garden studio in Nottingham.
I'm a colourist at heart. Colour is what excites me. I was brought up in the Scottish Borders, which has a strong history of traditional textiles, and my work is hugely inspired by the tartans and the luxury wools that I grew up around. I used to work in a tartan mill in the Borders, which produced sublime colours. I would pore over these for hours on end, deciding which were my favourite colour combinations.
My love of wool and textiles led me to a degree in knitwear design at Nottingham Trent University, after which I worked in the fashion and knitwear industry for 25 years, designing for many high-street brands. In 2019 I decided to go it alone, as I longed to get back on my trusty knitting machine and also missed the freedom of creating for myself – playing around with colours, free from the pressures of predicting trends and designing future best-sellers.
I knit a bit like a painter paints: once I’m on the machine I create what comes to me, experimenting and mixing up stripes and yarns to create beautiful fabrics in compelling colour combinations. Every weewollies product starts life as a single strand of merino lambswool, before being knitted and hand-finished to give it a super soft feel. I want all my products to be as lovely to hold as they are to look at.
I take huge pride in my work and always aim to create high-quality pieces that you will love for years. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.

I have been very happy using this mini stripe triangle scarf. It's a nice size, tying neatly around the neck, and is small enough to roll up and put in my bag when the weather turns out to be too warm for a scarf. The fine stripe is charming and adds a little more interest to my outfit rather than my usual large, plain long scarves . in addition, the pricing ws reasonable compared to similar items I have seen online.I am a delighted customer and will definitely buy from this seller again, either for myself or as a gift.
